Paddock Talk

Nature Based Counselling & Healing

Experience a deeper connection to yourself and nature
through Nature-Based Counselling

Set in the peaceful surroundings of our paddocks, and occasionally joined by the calming presence of our resident horses, this approach offers a unique therapeutic environment.

The natural world provides a powerful grounding experience. We practice mindfulness in nature to cultivate a strong mind-body connection, helping you reconnect with your inner self while being supported by the soothing energy of the outdoors. Our sessions include education on the autonomic nervous system, highlighting how horses role model being present, how they naturally release nervous energy from their body, enabling them to find a calm state. Being in close proximity to horses allows for deepened nervous system regulation, as they often co-regulate their nervous systems with ours.

If you’re seeking a gentle, nurturing setting for emotional relief, this therapy combines the benefits of nature with counselling. We also offer energy healing modalities like Emotion Code and Reiki during these outdoor sessions.

Who is this offer for?

If you feel overwhelmed by the hustle and noise of daily life, or simply need a break from traditional indoor therapy settings, this approach offers an open and refreshing alternative. Whether you’re dealing with stress, anxiety, grief, or feeling disconnected from yourself or others, the combination of nature and therapy can create a unique healing space. This is especially beneficial for anyone who thrives in nature or feels more grounded in outdoor environments.

What to expect during a session:

Duration: 1 hour- 1.5 hours

Sessions are subject to weather conditions.

Participants must be 10 years old and over

If the horses are restless due to factors like wind, the practitioner might chose to hold the session at the fence of the paddock. This adjustment can help ensure a safer and more focused experience, allowing the horses to stay within their comfort zone while still benefiting from the session.

Mindfullness in the presence of horses is not a ‘play and pat session’, even though the horses are often enthusiastic to engage with us during our time in the paddock, we do not guarantee hands on interaction with the horses.
